As I had previously completed a variety of work for this client, when she purchased an out-dated holiday home in Rosslare, she asked me to refurbish it.

As the home had been let for years, and used infrequently, it required a complete refurbishment and makeover.

Because if the location and stunning sea views, I envisaged Seaside Penthouse Appearance and Feel.

The first part was to get all the building work done – roof insulation, new bathrooms, flooring and kitchen.

The primary building work was to create an open space in the upstairs which included a kitchen, dining area and sun room – in small separate rooms. We opened this, knocking through all walls to create a stunning open plan space, with panoramic views.

To save on space and facilitate outdoor living, we decided not to include a dining area – but instead created a fabulous Island with seating facing out on the stunning views.

In the kitchen, we used pale grey units with a quartz top – with all appliances built in – contributing to the clean lines and simple effect.

To create totally clean lines and simplicity, decoration was kept clean and simple – sea wood washed floor, and off white walls.

We also put in invisible blackout blinds in all rooms, except in main bedroom where we put a decorative curtain.

In the bathrooms again, we used muted cool tones – pale grey washed tiles with texture on the walls and contemporary bathroom furniture, grey suites.

The principal ensuite bathroom we changed to a wet room at the client’s request.
