Fantastic new commission just come through, for an apartment refit in The Tannery, Dublin 8.
I love these jobs where I am working on functionality and design, modernising, upgrading and refurbishing.
After 12 years, all the children in this family are now working, so the apartment is getting an upgrade too. Transforming what was student accommodation to a bright modern apartment for young professionals.
As always, storage is my number one focus, particularly in an apartment. To achieve maximum use of space, I am commissioning built in shelves and wardrobes with linen baskets and adding beds with storage.
In the living room I am also adding shelving and a built in laptop desk and shelves. To maximise living space, a two-seater sofa in a neutral leather and matching day bed are ordered together with complimentary side tables.
Throughout we are installing LED spot lights and painting all walls. We are also fitting double blackout blinds throughout. In the hallway we are tidying everything by adding further shelves and a built in shoe storage unit.
In the kitchen we are upgrading all white goods and adding more storage where we can. But as the kitchen cupboards are still ok we have agreed to just move a few things around to maximise space.
Looking forward to this apartment transformation – bringing it up to standard for young professionals.
