Delighted with results of a Colour Consultation project!
Colour Consultation – The Result
What I love about this service, is how I can bring and transform a disassociated room, by focusing on a couple of key items and then harmonising it all with complimenting paint colours and soft furnishings. Give me a call to organise your colour consultation now.
Hall, Stairs and Landing
Client was a previous client, who had bought a very daring Wallpaper for the Hall, Stairs and Landing and wanted help. While there, we also looked at ways of improving colour in kitchen and sitting room and bringing the rooms together.
The Wallpaper she had sourced herself, proved to be really beautiful but if used everywhere would have been very overpowering. We decided it should be used on the tall left Stair Wall and Back Landing Wall.
All over Ivory – Definite NO
My client thought we might use Ivory Paint for all the other Walls but in my opinion that would have given an uninspiring, cold feel which did not fit with the lovely Wallpaper. After reviewing several colours so we decided on a Colortrend Paint Colour of Sorrel which is warm and had a Woodland feel, capturing the feel of the wallpaper and bringing everything together. This colour also fitted well with the existing Carpet. My client and I are both happy – it all looks great and brings a lovely warm and bright feeling into the hallway and stairs.
Sitting Room and Kitchen
While I was there she asked me to look at two other Rooms – The Sitting Room and the kitchen.
To me the sitting room appeared very grey – which was Grey – Grey Walls, Grey Sofas, Grey Curtains – not inspiring or appealing and a bit bland.
The only thing that could be changed was the Walls and so after much discussion we decided on a Historic Aqua Paint for the Walls . It has definitely brightened the Room which is still and work in process . Our Plan is to use a rather lovely Sea Collage that Client has existing on the Wall and then take the Colours of it as inspiration for Cushions in Sea Colours of Sapphire, Turquoise, Purple , Aqua, Sky, Indigo, Violet , Marine together with similar touches in Ornaments to bring everything together.
Kitchen
This is a cold North facing Room and was painted a nice safe Magnolia Shade .
It needed help.
I used as inspiration her existing Wall hanging and Turquoise Dining Chairs to recommend that warm but strangest of Colortrend Shades called Sweet Jar – is it warm Cream? is it Pale Pink ? is it Taupe? Is it Lilac? – who knows ? – looks delicious but always different in every situation.
