Love the transformation in this Kitchen Diner.
With a small window in the dining area, this kitchen diner, while modern enough in style, was dark and cramped. And though I loved the original kitchen table and chairs, they were way over-sised for the space.

My brief from my client was to bring light to both areas, as cost effectively as possible. She also hated the location of the current sink, at the back of the long narrow kitchen, with natural light.
Patio Doors To Bring Light
My immediate plan was to bring in loads of light with patio doors. Luckily we were able to re-use the old dining area window for the new kitchen sink area.
Immediately the whole house was transformed, with light, space and views to the garden.
The kitchen we chose, is without handles to create a sleek look in a long galley type area. By using an off white door, we avoided a clinical look, but still brought light into the kitchen area.
And then there was Light – What a Change

Streamlining with Complimentary Counter Top & Wall Tiles
We used a complimentary off white tile as a counter top and continued this up the walls to create a stunning, sleek, light filled galley style kitchen. The slate blue-grey floor tile tones down the overall white kitchen and is really good as it shows very little dirt.
Light Ash, Modern Extending Dining Table
I then advised my client to choose a simple sleek table to fit into the corner of the dining area. We luckily found this one which extends double in size when required. The simple grey chairs are one of my favourite stock items. Simple in design, wipe clean, they are all stackable, so my client can bring the extra chairs in, when she extends the table for guests.
Java Dawn Blues – So Bright
Paint wise, my client loves these Mediterranean blues so we chose a slightly darker one for the kitchen area, to enhance the off white cupboards.
What a fantastic transformation, without any extension or huge building works – or costs
